About Summer

Summer Funes is a Los Angeles filmmaker. Born in El Salvador, Summer came to the states at a young age and grew up dancing in backyard barbecues and family gatherings.  Dance is a big part of who Summer is. She was raised in South LA and commuted to Granada Hills while in middle school and high school. Summer started her film studies in 2002 and learned the crafts of script writing, filming, and editing shorts. All of her learning’s led her to work in Film, TV and Cable. Then won an AT&T Create-a-thon Competition in 2017

Once the recession hit in 2006, Summer took up office work to make ends meet. All
mean while she worked on short films. Summer shot, edited and co-directed 4 short films for sexual assault against Native American Women. She won a competition on Geneca, Switzerland for the tribe. These projects required traveling and it was while Summer traveled that she gained a great sense of enrichment though all these life experiences and new awareness of cultures. Still having the film work practice while the recession ended.

The breakthrough happened when Summer had an epiphany to combine all her passions into one. Film, dance, and traveling is how All Seasons Films came about. An opportunity to become an entrepreneur. This great adventure of wearing multiple hats in the film industry suits Summer Funes. A title so fitting it allows Summer to take on projects for the community. Such as Directing Latin Music documentaries. Films that help empower, enlighten and inspire. All for the love of art. Stand by for Summer Funes' next documentary project coming in 2024.
